This bronze statue with alabaster eyes represents Osiris-Neper, the god of agriculture.

The distinctive crown of Osiris, known as the atef, comprises a tall conical centerpiece flanked by ostrich feathers mounted on the extending wavy horns of a species of ram now extinct. In this statuette, the horn and feathers on the right side of the crown are missing, and so is the upper half of the feathers on the left side. The crown of Upper Egypt is protected by an oversized cobra (royal uraeus). The crook (hka) and flail (nhaha), which he once held in his hands, are now missing. They may have been separate pieces, as sometimes occurred. A large usekh collar, rendered by deep incisions in the bronze, wraps around the chest of the god.

This type of statuette would have been buried in the tomb with the mummy. Notches over the entire body of the statuette would have held seeds of barley or wheat left to germinate. “The germination of the grain typified the germination of the spiritual body of the deceased” (Budge 1973:[1]58).
